The role focuses on driving sales and elevating the customer experience by providing extensive product knowledge and training, exceptional customer service, and collaborating with store partners. The sales and education representative will work as the brand expert in cosmetics for assigned stores/brands. The role will analyze business results and surface sales-driving opportunities to achieve goals. They will lead event execution and drive sales growth through collaboration with regional merchandise execution, beauty field directors, and stores partners. They will also be responsible for coaching and empowering beauty associates to become experts in their field, and for supporting multi-brand selling across the floor.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze business results to identify and surface sales-driving opportunities to achieve goals
  • Collaborate with regional merchandise execution, beauty field directors, and store partners to support growth in stores
  • Strategize and lead the execution of beauty events to drive sales and continuous learning for all beauty colleagues on the floor
  • Lead local event strategy, planning, and execution
  • Visit competitors, observe and evaluate competitive opportunities, and communicate findings to central and regional teams
  • Direct, observe and assess consistent execution based on national execution guidelines and standards
  • Collaborate with vendors, communicate priorities and needs
  • Prepare for, participate in, and follow-up on store visits and pre-season planning meetings
  • Develop collaborative relationships with vendors

People, Selling & Training

  • Encourage forward thinking strategies and be a change agent
  • Drive excellent service and selling through reinforcing customer-centric culture among beauty advisors
  • Train store colleagues and monitor colleague engagement and completion of education requirements and learnings
  • Support vendor partnerships and ensure all product training is relevant and aimed at educating store teams on improving selling techniques
  • Support the onboarding of new beauty leaders and beauty advisors
  • Support store leadership in hiring and recruiting beauty team members at assigned brand

Qualifications and Competencies

  • 3-5 years of retail experience, preferably in Sephora
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to customers and all levels of internal and external business partners
  • Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies
  • Ability to monitor and maneuver workflow to achieve priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • This is a once a month pay via invoice position.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching, and climbing ladders
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register, and ability to process register transactions
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs

  • Experience with skincare sales and make-up application
  • Ability to assess customers' skincare needs and make recommendations
  • Passion for skincare and beauty: inspire customers with products and trends through demonstrating products and sharing expert tips
